FWWMP visit to Bootle war memorial

Historic England organised a site tour of the recently conserved Bootle war memorial. With contributions from the project team, visitors were able to see and hear first-hand about the project which cleaned and repaired the stone and bronze elements of the memorial and the surrounding setting. Funded primarily by the War Memorials Trust through the First World War Memorials Programme, the custodians, Sefton Council were able to commission a conservation architect and conservators to carry out the work. More of these site tours are planned in other regions of England.
