Griff Rhys Jones will celebrate the community led awards with head judge, Max Farrell, at awards ceremony

Campaigner and President of Civic Voice, Griff Rhys Jones, will host the second annual Civic Voice Design Awards ceremony to celebrate the recipients of this years awards.

The Civic Voice Design Awards are unique in England in that they are a nominated by local community groups. Being nominated by the local community means the recipients are recognised for projects that have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in local villages, towns and cities.

Now in its second year the Civic Voice Design Awards have recommissioned their original judging panel including, partner in Farrells and head judge, Max Farrell. The panel have once again spent several weeks deliberating entrants, in order to recognise more of the excellent work presented by architects all over the country.

The ceremony, which will celebrate the positive impact of architects' designs in local communities from Carlisle to the Isle of Wight, will take place from 5.30pm-7.30pm on 24th May 2016 in Portcullis House, Westminster, London.

Griff Rhys Jones said, “What I find wonderful about the Civic Voice Design Awards is that it shows that people are willing to welcome the new developments we need when they have been properly consulted and involved and where the quality of design has been of the highest standard. Gathering together to celebrate these people with an awards evening seems like the next natural progression.".
