Some immediate thoughts from our Director Ian Harvey:

Our Director, Ian Harvey shared some immediate thoughts in civic update on the Government's Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill:

'It's not as bad as the Planning White Paper, but we're concerned about national development management policies, especially since the government has stated that it wants to give councils more power.' We've heard a lot about street votes, but we're still sceptical about whether they'll address housing delivery or housing affordability, but we're willing to be open-minded and look into it further. We are pleased that communities will be able to continue to comment on individual planning applications, and we, of course, welcome any Government initiative on Pride of Place. I'm excited to hear what Civic Voice members think about the Bill as we develop our policy and strategy over the next few weeks."
