A blue plaque-app?

A blue plaque-app?

Peterborough Civic Society has installed 36 blue plaques in and around Peterborough city centre.

The society is considering extending the scheme and, as part of this, is looking to develop an app or something similar so that a) plaques can be easily located; b) further information can be easily accessed and c) visitors and phone users might be attracted to look for plaques and other architectural features hitherto ignored or overlooked.

English Heritage has developed a superb app called Blue Plaques of London that enables users to easily locate, and find information which is freely available and well worth a look. Peterborough society wondered if there are other civic societies out there that might already have something in place to support existing plaque schemes. Please could any societies email Vice Chair Toby Wood and let him know. Feel free to show off the excellent work that is happening in your location.
