The meetings in November showed clear support for Civic Voice to continue, initially as a volunteer run body whilst a review is undertaken of how to revitalise the organisation. The Board now feel confident that we can demonstrate that Civic Voice is a going concern in terms of its financial position for the next year based on reduced costs pending the outcome of the strategic review. It is equally important that we are seen to deliver our charitable objectives over this period, and this will require us to focus on a few key items and need commitment and assistance from members.
The working group tasked with a revitalisation of Civic Voice is being established. The group will make proposals for a revitalisation with specific reference to objectives, governance reform, identifying reliable funding sources and appointing new trustees to assist with running the organisation. The group’s recommendations will determine how we operate in the 2026/27 year and we recognise that some societies decision to continue or resume membership will depend on the outcome of this review. If your society is not currently a member and wish to re-join please email chair@civicvoice.org.uk
A hybrid meeting will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 24 January 2026 in London and online. This will be asked to confirm support for the actions taken, review progress made and confirm new trustee appointments. An EGM will be held in Spring 2026 when the working group report is complete.
