Civic Voice has revealed the full programme for this year’s Civic Voice Conference in Liverpool on Friday 17 April 2026. 9:30am–5:00pm. The conference will be held aboard the Daffodil, a former Mersey ferry permanently moored in Canning Dock, Liverpool (L3 4AN), and will explore a range of topics under the broad theme of Regeneration. The programme is available here.
Speakers now include Graham Marshall from Prosocial Place talking about “Backin’ Birkenhead: From Grassroots Planning to Community Power” along with Mark Braund, architect at BDP speaking about the Liverpool ONE Masterplan, and Dr Kerry Taylor, senior lecturer in communication at Liverpool University discussing Community Assets in Action. They join previously announced speakers: Professor Sally Stone of Manchester School of Architecture, will deliver the key note session on the future of the already built, and Dr Paul Jones of the University of Salford, who will focus on the role of historic assets in successful urban regeneration. Danny Marsh, landscape architect from Planit will talk about the Regeneration of Liverpool’s Historic Central Docks and Steve Power, chair of Merseyside Buildings Preservation Trust, will explain the Lower Duke Street Townscape Heritage Initiative.
A lunch of traditional Scouse, or a vegetarian ‘blind’ Scouse, is included in the ticket price.
For those arriving the day before, Merseyside Civic Society will lead a pre conference walking tour at 15:30 on Thursday 16 April 2026, highlighting historic buildings saved by hospitality companies. This will be followed by an optional group meal at the Royal Albert Dock, with the cost of dinner payable on the evening. The walking tour is free and open to all members.
Tickets for the conference are £45. Bookings for this event are managed by Merseyside Civic Society via Eventbrite. For more information and to book go to our conference calendar page
